The Los Angeles Rams came away with a big victory in their NFC Championship Game rematch with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon, beating them 27-9 at home to move to 2-0 on the season.
The Saints were hampered by injuries as quarterback Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury in the first quarter that forced him to miss the remainder of the game.
It wasn’t just the Saints though as the Rams also lost a couple of key players to injury. One of those was tight end Tyler Higbee, who recently signed a big contract extension to remain in Los Angeles.
Higbee did not come out of the halftime locker room after being ruled out with a chest injury. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Higbee was spitting up blood because of the injury, although it is not considered to be serious:

Spitting up blood is always concerning but the fact that Higbee won’t miss much time is good news for the Rams moving forward.
Higbee and Gerald Everett typically split time at tight end, with Higbee usually playing on run downs and redzone/short-yardage situations, while Everett is more of a third-down passing threat.
Everett finished out the game after Higbee went down and would become the team’s starter if he were to miss any time. The Rams will be traveling east for a Week 3 matchup against the Cleveland Browns next Sunday night.
