The Los Angeles Rams defense got off to a hot start to begin the 2017 NFL season. However, they have since cooled off after allowing 68 points over the last two games.
To make matters worse, the Rams face their most formidable opponent yet with the vaunted Dallas Cowboys offense. If Los Angeles is going to hold their own in Week 4, they will a strong performance from their top cornerback Trumaine Johnson. Johnson will be tasked with guarding Cowboys star wide receiver, a matchup he said he is excited about, during the team’s press conference:
“I’m excited, big time. He’s a competitor, I’m a competitor,” he said. “It’s going to be fun. Oh man, I’ve been playing against him since my rookie year. He’s big, he’s physical, he’s a competitor, he’s fast. Good match up for me.”
Bryant has gotten off to a relatively slow start to begin the 2017 NFL season. He has recorded just 11 receptions for 114 yards through Week 3. However, he has still proved to be a capable threat in the red zone with two touchdowns.
Despite his struggles, Bryant is a playmaker that must always be accounted for when on the field. Johnson will certainly have his hands full with free safety LaMarcus Joyner officially ruled out.
