The Los Angeles Rams bounced back in Week 2, hanging on to beat the Atlanta Falcons 31-27 to earn their first win of the 2022 season.

As is normally the case in the NFL though, the Rams did not come out of the game injury-free. L.A.’s offensive line has already been banged up to start the season as rookie third-round pick Logan Bruss suffered a season-ending knee injury in the preseason and then center Brian Allen hurt his knee as well in Week 1 and is expected to miss 2-4 weeks.

With Allen missing the game against the Falcons, starting guard Colton Shelton moved over to center. Getting the start at right guard was Tremayne Anchrum, a seventh round pick in 2020 who was making his first career start.

Unfortunately for Anchrum and the Rams though, he did not last long as the 24-year-old played just two offensive snaps before leaving with an injury of his own.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Anchrum suffered a fracture fibula early in the game:

Sean McVay later confirmed the injury that required surgery and will keep Anchrum out for the remainder of the year, via Greg Beacham of the Associated Press:

This is another big blow to the Rams offensive line, who already came into the season as one of the team’s weaker units.

A.J. Jackson replaced Anchrum after the injury and played the remainder of the game at right guard. He is typically a tackle but will likely continue to play guard with Shelton at center until Allen is able to return.
