The Los Angeles Rams filled a major need going into the offseason with the addition of Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Marcus Peters. However, both sides had remained hush on the exact details of the trade.

There had been speculation that the Chiefs may have gotten a lucrative return for the two-time All-Pro. However, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, the Rams gave up just a 2018 fourth round pick and a 2019 2nd round pick:

The Chiefs traded CB Marcus Peters to the Rams for a 2018 fourth round pick and a 2019 2nd round pick, sources say. The deal can’t be official until the league year begins.

Needless to say, Chiefs fans have been outraged by what they feel is a minimal return. In a lot of ways, they are right.

No player in the league has picked off more passes (19) since he was taken with the 18th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. He has also registered six forced fumbles and 55 pass deflections en route to two Pro Bowl selections in his first three years in the league.

That said, fans in Kansas City are still left wondering what could have spurred such little return for an elite player. Meanwhile, the Rams are checking off one crucial item on their to-do list this offseason. The trade cannot be officially completed until the deadline on March 14th.
