Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley has re-established himself as one of the best ball-carriers so far in the 2017 NFL season. In fact, the young workhorse looks even better than he did during his impressive debut season when he was awarded Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Gurley managed to get back on track with his award-winning ways after earning NFC Offensive Player of the Month honors. Now, he has followed up on his spectacular start to the season with his strongest performance yet against the Dallas Cowboys. The Rams announced on their official Twitter that he has since been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week:

Gurley was his usual dynamic self against a stout Cowboys defense, carving them up for 215 total yards on the day. He even broke off a tremendous 53-yard touchdown reception to help turn the tide in the Rams favor.

The third-year back has gotten off to a historic start to the 2017 NFL season and is largely responsible for the resurgence on offense. Not only has he been able to churn up yards on the ground, but he has been just effective through the air.

Gurley’s dynamic skill set has undoubtedly been exponentiated by the arrival of head coach Sean McVay and development of quarterback Jared Goff. If the offense can continue to progress, one can expect much more honors to come his way.
