In the last several days, New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has seen his name tossed around in trade rumors. The organization has been quite open about the situation with management not voicing much clarity to his long-term future with the team while listening to offers for him.

The Los Angeles Rams have emerged as a possible landing spot for Beckham Jr.’s services after being one of the first teams to reach out to the Giants about working out a deal. With that in mind, Rams All-Pro running back Todd Gurley welcomed the idea of playing alongside the Pro Bowl wideout if the team was able to acquire him, aaccording to Gary Klein of Los Angeles Times:

“There’s always enough snaps,” Gurley, speaking hypothetically, said with a broad grin. “There’s always enough snaps.

“If we had him, man, it would be awesome. I’d be happy, Goff will be happy, coach McVay will be happy, [owner Stan] Kroenke, the whole team would be.”

The possible addition of Beckham Jr. would provide the team with a bonafide No.1 wide receiver in the passing game for Pro Bowl quarterback Jared Goff to rely upon. His presence would also provide the opportunity to elevate the play of the other wide receivers on the roster in Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Josh Reynolds as more effective offensive threats.

It could also help Gurley be a more efficient factor in both the running and passing game to build off his impressive 2017 campaign that saw him capture the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award and finish runner-up for the NFL MVP award. Although there is a risk of possibly dealing with some outside distractions, the Rams have shown this offseason that they are more than willing to that chance of proven talent.

At this stage, the Giants are simply listening to offers for Beckham Jr., but if they are willing to take the next step by working toward a deal that Rams could be in the mix. In the meantime, it is an encouraging sign to see that Gurley is a big proponent of this possible scenario.
