It has been quite the bounce-back year for Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley. After suffering through a disastrous sophomore campaign, the young workhorse is starting to look like his dynamic self.
Gurley has re-established himself as a versatile weapon in the backfield for this rejuvenated Rams offense. The Rams official Twitter announced that Gurley has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month to begin the 2017 NFL season.

The former Offensive Rookie of the Year has rushed for 241 yards and four touchdowns through Week 3. As good as he has been on the ground, Gurley has been just effective through the air with 13 receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
It should come as no surprise that he has taken on such a large role in the offense. New head coach Sean McVay made it clear in the offseason that he would center the offense around Gurley’s skill set. Needless to say, it has paid off nicely for Los Angeles so far in the 2017 NFL season.
Aside from McVay’s system, Gurley’s resurgence can largely be credited to the offense as a whole. Strong play from the offensive line has triggered tremendous improvement from quarterback Jared Goff – which ultimately helps creates more space for Gurley to work with.
