The Los Angeles Rams face a big test this Sunday as they travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints and their high powered offense led by Drew Brees.

If Los Angeles wants to win the game their offense will have to perform better than it has in recent weeks, as they have scored 10 points or less in four straight games.

To get the offense going, the Rams will need to rely on running back Todd Gurley, who has struggled to find running room this season.

Just a few days ahead of the game the Rams received some bad news, as Gurley missed Friday’s practice with an illness that has been going around the team. According to Myles Simmons of TheRams.com, Gurley is still expected to play Sunday though:

After running for at least 100 yards five times in 13 games last season, including in four straight games, Gurley has failed to reach 100 rushing yards in all 10 of the Rams games this season.

With the Rams starting a rookie quarterback in Jared Goff they will need Gurley to get going early on Sunday to control the time of possession to keep Brees and the Saints offense off the field.

New Orleans ranks 14th against the run at 102.1 rushing yards per game, so they can be run on.

Los Angeles has a difficult schedule coming up as after this week they play three straight division leaders, so if they want to remain in the playoff race they likely will have to beat the Saints this Sunday.
