The Los Angeles Rams announced that linebacker Terrell Lewis has been designated to return from the Reserve/Non-Football Injury List.
The Rams were very high on Lewis when they drafted him in the third round out of Alabama this year, although he has not been able to hit the field yet due to a knee injury. He was forced to undergo a scope on his knee due to concerns about an infection from a previous surgery.
After spending the first three weeks of the season on the Reserve/NFI List, Lewis has the ability to be added to the 53-man roster as early as this week, but it doesn’t appear that will be the case.
According to Stu Jackson of TheRams.com, the Rams have 21 days to activate Lewis and will take their time in doing so:
Rams HC Sean McVay said OLB Terrell Lewis this week will enter the 21-day window that will allow for the team to decide whether to remove him from Reserve/Non-Football Injury List. McVay is not sure yet if Lewis will practice today.

Sean McVay wasn’t sure if Lewis would practice, but the team later posted a video of him back in action:

This certainly represents good news for the Rams, who have struggled to get a pass rush this season outside of Aaron Donald and Leonard Floyd.
If Lewis is not activated in the next 21 days then he will miss the whole season, although it doesn’t appear that will be the case as a return seems to be on the horizon, perhaps as soon as next week.
