Last November St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey was shot twice in the head in Miami leaving his life in jeopardy.

Bailey was in a car with family members when someone opened fire on them. He was taken immediately to the hospital where he underwent successful surgery.

The 25-year-old has not played football since the incident, and it does not appear that he will be playing anytime soon, possibly never. To make room on the 90-man roster ahead of training camp, the now Los Angeles Rams have waived Bailey, although it appears they would like to eventually bring him back in some sort of capacity, via Ian Rapoport of NFL.com and Around the NFL:

The Rams selected Bailey in the third round of the 2013 draft out of West Virginia. In three seasons with the team he had 59 catches for 843 yards and two touchdowns. He had a career-high 436 yards in 14 games in 2014.

While he still has a long way to go in his recovery, Bailey has not ruled out playing football again.
