When the Los Angeles Rams moved from St. Louis, owner Stan Kroenke had a vision of building a state-of-the-art stadium that can be the sports and entertainment capital of the world.

Now that a few years have gone by, Kroenke is finally seeing that vision come to fruition as the Rams will move into their new home, SoFi Stadium, beginning in the 2020 season.

The stadium is expected to have all of the amenities a fan could ask for, and it appears that includes superior wireless internet. According to Corinne Reichert of CNet, SoFi Stadium and the surrounding Hollywood Park are will feature Wi-Fi 6 by Cisco:

SoFi Stadium, where NFL’s Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers will play their home games when it opens next summer, is getting Wi-Fi 6 — as is the surrounding Hollywood Park area. Cisco is in charge of installing the high-speed wireless connectivity, the networking giant said Thursday.

Wi-Fi 6 is the next standard in wireless networking, allowing compatible devices like routers to take advantage of to transmit Wi-Fi signals more efficiently. Speeds are meant to be around 30% faster than Wi-Fi 5, with a theoretical maximum speed of 10Gbps. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 was the first phone to be officially Wi-Fi 6 capable, and it was followed by the iPhone 11. There’s also multiple Wi-Fi 6 routers on the market.

In-stadium WiFi is typically not very good, so this is a cool thing for the Rams to add to make their new home to make it more enjoyable and fan-friendly.

It is not surprising to see Kroenke do something of this nature considering many big events in addition to Rams games like concerts, Super Bowls, Final Fours, and even the Olympics will be at SoFi Stadium in the near future.
