Rams News: Sean McVay Says He’s Open To Additional Trades

The Los Angeles Rams have been arguably the most active team in the league this offseason after making a slew of moves to improve their roster ahead of the 2018 NFL season. This has included a few trades that added All-Pro cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib to the mix.

The Rams have now seemingly put their names in the hat to possibly acquire star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants. In wake of that chatter, head coach Sean McVay made it clear that he is for any trade that helps improve the team, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.

“We can’t talk about anybody that’s under contract with any other team, but I think, if there’s one thing you can appreciate about what we’ve done this offseason, there’s no trade we wouldn’t explore or look into if we feel like it can upgrade us as a team,” said McVay, whose Rams are having one of the busiest offseasons in the NFL. “Hypothetically, I think a player of his caliber can kind of really do everything, but like I said, we really don’t get into discussing players that are with other teams, just out of respect for tampering and the things that come with that.”

McVay may not have gone into any significant detail concerning Beckham Jr., but there is interest from the Rams to land one of the game’s best wide receiver. This is especially the case with the void left by the departure of Sammy Watkins in free agency on a three-year, $48 million deal to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The addition of Beckham Jr. would provide the team with a legitimate No.1 wide receiver that can be a primary source of production in the passing game as one of quarterback Jared Goff’s main targets. It would help make the Rams even more dangerous offensive unit to go alongside reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year Todd Gurley. It would also help extenuate the impact of the other wide receivers on the roster in Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Josh Reynolds.

There has already been notion tossed around that the Rams are willing to offer their 23rd overall pick in this year’s draft any potential deal for Beckham Jr. There has yet to be any significant movement toward trade talks heating up, but if the Giants are truly willing to part ways with the star wideout Los Angeles will be at the top of the list of potential suitors.
