The Los Angeles Rams are reeling right now after suffering their third consecutive loss, with the most recent defeat coming against a fellow NFC powerhouse in the Green Bay Packers.
At this point of the 2021 season, it is hard to tell who exactly the Rams are as most of their wins came against sub-.500 teams with their best win of the year coming in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Matthew Stafford has been turnover-prone in each of the losses, though head coach Sean McVay went up to bat for his quarterback after being asked about potentially calling him out.
Adding to Los Angeles’ troubles are the injuries that have started to pile up. The running back room has been hit hard throughout the year and it sounds like Darrell Henderson is now banged up, according to Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:
Rams head coach Sean McVay said running back Darrell Henderson Jr. has a “little bit of a quad strain” and doesn’t expect him to practice on Wednesday.
“We’ll monitor him throughout the course of the week and see what that looks like,” McVay said.
Henderson has already been banged up this year and this recent ailment puts his Week 13 availability seriously in question. It is normal for players to miss a couple of days of practice before getting in a final limited session a couple of days before the game, but it is still concerning that McVay already does not expect Henderson to practice Wednesday.
Should Henderson be ruled out, Sony Michel will work as the primary back with Buddy Howell spelling him throughout the afternoon against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Michel has been a serviceable back when called upon, but losing Henderson is definitely a blow to an offense that is struggling to find itself right now. If Henderson is unavailable, the Rams should still be able to get out of their funk when the Jaguars come to Los Angeles.
