The 2018-19 season was one to remember for the Los Angeles Rams, winning their division for the second consecutive year and advancing to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2001.

Unfortunately for head coach Sean McVay and the Rams though, their lack of experience ended up costing them though as they were defeated by Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.

Getting that far and losing stings and is a feeling that may never go away for the Rams players and staff. Despite that though, McVay is emphasizing not to dwell on the loss too much before beginning to look ahead to the 2019 season, via Myles Simmons of TheRams.com:

“I think we talk about not letting one game ever define you,” McVay said. “And clearly that’s a big game, and it’s the first time we’ve ever navigated through it as a coaching staff. But it’s going back to the foundational principles, some of the core values that you want to operate with — just in terms of being in the present, producing in that given day. And those are things that we’ll go back to doing.

“I think we’ve got to understand that every year presents new challenges. But foundationally, there’s a lot of the same things that we’ll continue to do moving forward. But last year is last year. You want to learn from every single game. The Super Bowl provides a great learning opportunity for us.”

The Rams are set to return their entire core nucleus of players in 2019 and have made some solid veteran acquisitions like Eric Weddle and Clay Matthews so far this offseason.

McVay and his squad will once again be picked by many to win the NFC West for the third straight year and may be the favorites to return to the Super Bowl again if they can stay healthy. Getting start wide receiver Cooper Kupp back healthy should help a lot.
