The Los Angeles Rams have been the talk of the NFL offseason given they added several high-profile names to the roster through trades and free agency. With all the newly-acquired talent on the team, the Rams have been pegged as an early Super Bowl favorite by most analysts.
Los Angeles also added to its talented roster during the 2018 NFL Draft. The team entered the draft with clear needs at offensive line and linebacker and did well for themselves given they had no first or second-round selections.
According to Myles Simmons of Rams, Sean McVay has liked what he has seen so far from this rookie draft class:
I think it’s a good opportunity to be able to kind of get these guys familiar with how we operate, while also being able to do some things specific to the foundation that’s already been set and kind of how we want to operate with those rookies that’s different to the vets,” McVay said. “I think it’s hard for them to come in with the amount of information that’s already been covered dating to last year. But also being able to do some drill work with our players who have been here, those veterans, and see the way they work. So it’s a nice combination of both, and it was a good start today.”
The Rams rookies got the opportunity to begin their offseason training with the team this week and have seemingly adjusted well to McVay and the rest of the coaching staff’s drill work and practice. While Los Angeles is filled with young talent and veteran players, several rookies may find themselves playing meaningful snaps when the 2018 NFL season begins.
After a successful offseason, the Rams look poised to make a serious run come the 2018 NFL campaign. It is an exciting time for the team and their fans and they should once again prove to be one of the NFL’s most electrifying teams.
