The Los Angeles Rams have come back down to earth the past two weeks, dropping back-to-back games to the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers in blowout fashion.

Sean McVay has now lost five straight games to the 49ers despite often being the better team overall, something that needs to be addressed quickly with another game against them on the horizon.

Despite the last couple of losses, McVay is choosing not to believe that’s the team the Rams are, via Lindsey Thiry of ESPN:

“I choose to believe these last couple of weeks are not who we are,” McVay said. “I refuse to believe that, even though you’re only as good as your last game.”

Luckily for the Rams though, the bye week comes at a perfect time as they will now have two weeks to figure some things out before playing about, which McVay believes will be big:

“It was a humbling night for us as a team,” McVay said. “And a great opportunity for us to be able to take a deep breath, step away, look at the things we need to correct.”

Probably the Rams’ biggest issue over the last two weeks were that they were not physical enough, being pushed around by the Titans and 49ers. McVay expects that issue to be addressed coming out of the bye:

“We’ll look inwardly, we’re going to figure this thing out,” McVay said. “And we’re going to come back freaking swinging. I promise you that these last seven games of the regular season.”

Things don’t get easier for the Rams coming out of the bye as their first game is against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

One other positive of the bye week coming when it did is that the Rams will have more time to integrate Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller so they can play more snaps against the Packers than they did against the 49ers.

That’s why it’s not yet time to panic in L.A., although if things don’t get figured out quickly then that sentiment will change considering this team has Super Bowl aspirations and hasn’t been playing anywhere close to that level in weeks.
