The Los Angeles Rams made the biggest splash at the NFL trade deadline when they made another blockbuster move to bring in Von Miller to an already stacked defensive unit.
Miller will join Aaron Donald and Leonard Floyd along the defensive line with Jalen Ramsey flanking them, making for a fearsome unit that opposing offenses are going to have a headache trying to figure out. Raheem Morris is going to have to find ways to effectively use all four players, but the collective talent and football IQ should more than make up for any growing pains they might experience.
So far, the Rams defense has not been quite as elite as last year’s squad, but are still one of the more formidable groups around the league. The defense has been successful despite missing some key pieces, though it looks like the secondary is going to be getting a major boost soon as head coach Sean McVay is projecting Darious Williams to return to the field this weekend, via Stu Jackson of Rams:

Williams was placed on short-term injured reserve with an ankle injury and missed the last three games, but Los Angeles designated him to return to practice and seems close to a return. While he still has to make it through the week of practice unscathed, it is encouraging to hear there were no setbacks in his recovery.
If Williams is able to come back, it will allow Ramsey to play in the ‘Star’ position that he has thrived in so far this year. With Donald, Floyd and Miller wreaking havoc up front and Ramsey and Williams patrolling the secondary, teams should find it difficult to gain many yards on them.
