The Los Angeles Rams’ 2024 season is officially over after their narrow loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Divisional Round.

The Rams were one score away from advancing in the 2025 Playoffs, but head coach Sean McVay and the offense were able unable to convert on fourth down and went home with a disappointing loss. While the team is full of young talent and promising players, there are some uncertainties with some of the core pieces on the team. Both Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford have been non-committal about their respective futures with the Rams, and McVay didn’t do much to dispel the notion that either player could be gone this offseason.

Besides Kupp and Stafford, McVay will also likely need to replace members of his coaching staff. Every offseason, teams pilfer from McVay’s ranks and for good reason as he has a certain eye for spotting coaching talent and members of his coaching tree have gone on to be successful elsewhere in the NFL.

It appears there’s already one vacancy on McVay’s sideline as game management coordinator John “Stretch” Streicher is headed back east to reunite with New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel, via Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic:

Streicher is quite familiar with Vrabel as he spent six seasons working for him when they were members of the Tennessee Titans. Streicher was an assistant to the head coach in 2018 and 2019 before being promoted to football development from 2020 to 2022. From there he moved up to become the Titans’ director of football administration before coming to Los Angeles.

Losing Streicher could prove to an underrated bump in the road for McVay who used him to help with managing in-game situations. McVay and the Rams enjoyed better late-game execution situations and had a better handle on things like challenges and timeout usage.

It remains to be seen whether or not McVay will hire someone to replace Streicher, but the offseason is young and he could wind up needing to replace other members on his staff.

Sean McVay congratulates Eagles but was shocked Rams didn’t win

The Rams were positioned well to score on their final offensive drive which is why Sean McVay was surprised that they didn’t beat Philadelphia.
