The Los Angeles Rams have already suffered some notable losses to their roster since the start of free agency.
Of course, some turnover was to be expected given the team’s cap situation leading up to the start of the new league year. Although they have since managed to do some serious damage control, the team already had an idea of which players were slated to earn solid paydays elsewhere.
So far, most of the departures have come on the defensive side of the ball. However, it was only a matter of time before the offense was affected as well.
According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, tight end Gerald Everett has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks:

Everett took to social media to announce the signing himself:

Everett’s skill set as a viable option in the passing game made him an intriguing option for teams looking to beef up their firepower. He is coming off his best year yet after hauling in a career-high 41 passes for 417 yards and a touchdown.
There has been plenty of speculation regarding the Seahawks’ situation under center with Russell Wilson reportedly looking for a new team. Regardless, this has not stopped them from beefing up his supporting cast after trading for Las Vegas Raiders guard Gabe Jackson.
Even if Wilson does not stick around, Everett can take solace in the fact that he will be reunited with Shane Waldron, who was named as Seattle’s new offensive coordinator this offseason. Waldron served as his position coach ever since he was taken in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft so the sense of familiarity should pay some dividends.
Everett was a thorn in the Seahawks’ side when he caught seven passes for a career-high 136 yards back in Week 5. They will now relish in him being on their side this time against an NFC West rival in the Rams.
