The 2017 NFL season was a successful one for the Los Angeles Rams as they went 11-5 and won the NFC West division title. However, the Rams were defeated in the Wild Card round of the 2017 NFL playoffs by the Atlanta Falcons, ending arguably the league’s feel-good story of the season.

Los Angeles will now turn its attention to the offseason where it has difficult questions to answer. Several key contributors from this year are set to become free agents, including Sammy Watkins.

According to Rich Hammond of Los Angeles Daily News, Watkins is not ruling out a return to Los Angeles:

You see this team building something, with the coaching staff and the players,” Watkins said. “It would be a pleasure to come back but, you know, it’s a business. I’m looking forward to talking to the coach and seeing where my future is at.”

The wide receiver was acquired in a trade with the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2017 NFL campaign and was thought to be the No. 1 receiver the team was lacking. While Watkins originally struggled to settle in his role, he eventually embraced what he was asked to do and ended up with eight touchdown receptions.

Watkins has previously stated he loves it in Los Angeles, and the team will most likely keep him by using the franchise tag. With another year with the Rams, Watkins should see his offensive production increase.
