Rams News: Robert Woods, Michael Brockers Not Buying Into Hype Surrounding Team

The Los Angeles Rams have capitalized on their stellar 2017 NFL season by adding to their star-studded roster this offseason. As a result, the hype train surrounding the Rams is in full motion.

However, it seems not everyone is convinced about their chances at a Super Bowl just yet. According to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez, wide receiver Robert Woods is well aware that the team must be able to apply what’s on paper to the field:

“We look good on paper,” Rams wide receiver Robert Woods said, “but we’ve got to look good on the field.”

Defensive tackle Michael Brockers echoed Woods’ comments by saying the players cannot buy into their own hype.

“I don’t want to make it bigger than it is,” said Michael Brockers. “We’ve brought in tremendous talents, but at the same time, we still have to put the work in. We can’t fall into the hype. We just have to put our heads down and continue to grind.”

It is encouraging to see both Woods and Brockers insist that the Rams not get ahead of themselves. There have been plenty of cases where star-studded teams did not live up to the vast expectations. Critics of this Rams team have even started to draw comparisons to the Philadelphia Eagles “Dream Team” back in 2011.

Regardless, there is still good reason for fans to be optimistic about their chances in the 2018 NFL season. Los Angeles boasted the best offense in football last year and are looking to take it a step further with the addition of wide receiver Brandin Cooks. They also managed to add three All-Pro defensive players in Ndamukong Suh, Marcus Peters, and Aqib Talib to their already-promising unit. That said, it is safe to assume that it is Super Bowl or bust for the Rams moving forward.
