The Los Angeles Rams are banking on Puka Nacua taking another leap in the 2025 season as they’ve fully transitioned to him as the face of the passing game.
Nacua emerged as a star as a rookie with the Rams and continued his torrid stretch in 2024 despite missing time due to injury. His arrival proceeded the eventual phase out of Cooper Kupp in the passing game and Los Angeles released the former Super Bowl MVP earlier this offseason.
While Nacua is in line to serve as the clear-cut No. 1 option in the offense for Matthew Stafford and head coach Sean McVay, he’ll have an excellent co-star in Davante Adams. The veteran is coming off a relatively subpar season that he split between the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Jets, but by all accounts is still close to the dominant receiver he’s been over the years.
Adams has been busy getting to know his new teammates during OTAs and he an Nacua were seen working on things together, via the Rams’ official social media:

In the short video, Nacua and Adams are facing each other and appear to be talking through different release techniques. Nacua demonstrates a release motion and Adams responds by showing him what looks to be how he goes about the movement. He copies Adams’ movements and the latter offers up confirmation that it was correct.
The clip finishes with Adams showing Nacua another move, a sign that the two are starting to build some chemistry as a duo. As two stars on the opposite ends of their careers, Adams is an ideal mentor for Nacua who still has upside as a player.
The latter discussed how nice it has been so far with his new teammates, via Wyatt Miller of TheRams.com:
“The positive impact has already been felt from Davante,” Nacua said. “From the moment he walked in, he has been willing to offer information, to have new drills, to (share) a complete different mindset of somebody who’s played in various offenses, very different schemes and stuff like that.”
Nacua was fortunate enough to learn from Kupp for his first two years and has to be feeling even luckier to now get to work with someone like Adams who has been one of the best receivers in the league for years. While he can get to greater heights on his own thanks to his natural talent and work ethic, having a mentor like Adams can only help him.
Puka Nacua is going to be a dad
Puka Nacua is one of the most beloved and fun players to root for on the Los Angeles Rams because of his child-like personality and demeanor. However, Nacua is also serious about his family and he and his partner Hallie Aiono announced they’re expecting a baby boy.
