As the Los Angeles Rams headed to Hawaii to take on the Dallas Cowboys, most of the starting lineup did not make the trip. However, one key member of the Rams did head across the Pacific Ocean to watch the game and have some fun too.

Aaron Donald, although not playing, joined the team on their trip to Hawaii. Additionally, it appears Donald is also participating in some non-football extracurricular activities.

According to Stu Jackson of TheRams.com, Donald will be taking his talents to television as he guest stars in Magnum P.I.:

In addition to being in Hawaii to support his teammates, Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald also said he had some “business stuff” he was doing. That would be playing a role in the next episode of Magnum, P.I.

Standing at 6’1″ and 280 pounds, it will be interesting to see what kind of role Donald has. As a crime related show, he could perhaps be playing a criminal.

While Donald’s on-field skills have never been in doubt, making the transition to television is never easy. Perhaps Donald can get advice on going in front of the camera from teammate Marcus Peters.

When head coach Sean McVay was asked about it, he believes that Donald will have what it takes considering his talents in everything else he does:

“(Aaron Donald is) probably pretty good at whatever he wants to do. I’ll have to see, if you guys give him some good lines, how smooth he looks on camera. I know he looks pretty good with a helmet on on-camera, but it’ll be fun.”

It does appear that great athletes can always find another arena to succeed in, or at the very least be competitive in. LeBron James has been trying his hand at acting and Kobe Bryant has won an Oscar. In fact, Donald will not even be the first football star to appear on Mangum P.I. Part-time football player, full-time actor Carl Weathers has appeared in an episode of the show as well.

In all reality, Donald will probably have a smaller role. His focus along with all of the Rams will be on the upcoming 2019 NFL Season. Magnum P.I. airs Monday Nights on CBS, although when the episode he is appearing in will air has not been revealed.
