The Los Angeles Rams are once again expected to be one of the best offensive teams in the NFL in 2019. Between Jared Goff and Todd Gurley, the Rams will be able to attack from the ground and the air.
There is no denying that Gurley is one of the league’s best running backs, but Goff has also quickly become one of the most impressive young quarterbacks. After only three seasons, Goff has totaled 65 touchdowns, good for 16th-best in that three-year span.
As the Rams prepare for their regular season opener against the Carolina Panthers, their head coach, Ron Rivera, had some praise for the Rams quarterback, via Nick Hamilton of SB Nation:
#Panthers HC Ron Rivera on #LARams QB Jared Goff: “What’s really great is seeing Jared’s development. His 2nd season when he was connected with Coach McVay and just watching how Jared showed what he’s capable of. That’s always exciting to see. Then, you just see his growth” pic.twitter.com/JUyjVUWNl4

Goff has put the league on notice with his play. Like Rivera stated, Goff has certainly grown each year, improving his total yards, touchdowns, and completion rate in each of his three seasons.
After signing a long-term extension to remains with the Rams this past week, Goff can now shift his focus back to the field which means he could be even better this season. Additionally, he will be getting his full cast of receivers back with Cooper Kupp returning from injury.
Rivera, who is also familiar will Goff because they both played their college ball at Cal, should have his hands full with the Rams offense on Sunday. Last season, the Panthers gave up the 18th-most receiving yards and the fifth-most receiving touchdowns.
