Even though free agency has slowed down as teams focus on the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft, several impact players remain available on the market.

Odell Beckham Jr. surprisingly remains unsigned, but that may be largely attributed to his recovery from an ACL tear he suffered in Super Bowl LVI with the Los Angeles Rams. Prior to the injury, Beckham had solidified himself as the undisputed second option in head coach Sean McVay’s offense and turned into a reliable receiving option for Matthew Stafford.

Unfortunately, this is the second ACL rehab Beckham has had to go through after suffering his first ACL tear during his time with the Cleveland Browns. However, the second go-around may prove to be a blessing in disguise because in an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Rams’ doctors who performed Beckham’s second ACL surgery were able to fix issues that occurred during the previous procedure which should keep him healthy long term:

Reportedly, Beckham’s knee did not heal the way it was expected to after the first surgery and was a concern for the Rams’ medical staff prior to his signing. Despite this, the team moved forward with bringing him on board knowing that at some point the receiver could get hurt again which ultimately happened.

Los Angeles’ medical staff has been lauded as one of the best in the NFL, especially after the miraculous comeback Cam Akers was able to make after suffering an Achilles tear last summer. All reports indicate Beckham is expected to make a full recovery, so whoever ends up signing him could be getting a bargain deal.
