Odell Beckham’s unfortunate injury in Super Bowl LVI has complicated his free agency as he has yet to be signed after an active first week of transactions.
The Los Angeles Rams have been about their interest in bringing back Beckham as the two formed a fruitful partnership. The wide receiver also expressed his desire to return to Los Angeles even if it meant taking less money, a reality that seems more plausible each passing day he is unsigned.
However, after losing Von Miller to the Buffalo Bills, the Rams turned around quickly to sign Allen Robinson to a three-year, $45 million deal. The move shocked the league as there were no rumblings of their interest in Robinson, especially considering how vocal they have been about wanting to bring back Beckham.
While adding Robinson certainly makes the Ram offense better, it seems to have rankled, Beckham who posted a cryptic tweet about being motivated:
As if I needed more motivation. Ima make my son proud asf when I’m done wit all this, from what I did on the field, to the way I handled all the other Shxt that came wit it. Zydn…son I love u… and daddy gone make u proud. I mean tht.

Perhaps it is not the addition of Robinson that bothers Beckham, but rather that he has yet to receive a similar dollar-value deal. Beckham showed L.A. and the rest of the NFL that he is still a threat in every part of the field and can contribute to winning at the highest levels.
So far, Robinson’s signing does not mean the Rams no longer want to bring back Beckham. But with the receiver feeling slighted, he may be more inclined to explore other options more thoroughly. It will be interesting to see how his situation plays out in the coming week.
