Odell Beckham Jr. could not have been a more timely signing for the Los Angeles Rams after Robert Woods was ruled out for the remainder of the season with an ACL tear.

Beckham, who was granted a release from the Cleveland Browns, has integrated himself almost seamlessly into the Rams offense and is a large reason why Los Angeles is set to play in Super Bowl LVI. In the NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers, Beckham had his outing with the Rams as he recorded nine receptions for 113 yards.

The receiver has repeatedly said he is enjoying the moment, but when asked about potentially taking less money to stay with Los Angeles long term, he did not hesitate to answer, via Nick Shook of NFL.com:

I asked Odell Beckham Jr. about his future beyond Sunday and if he’d sacrifice salary to stick with the Rams. The answer was a quick “yeah, of course!” with a smile.

“This place, it feels good in my heart. It feels like a home.”

When Beckham joined the Rams most thought it was a short-term arrangement because the team does not have any salary-cap space available. However, the fact that Beckham would take less to come back changes things and it would be in the front office’s best interests to try and work on a long-term deal.

Although the Rams will have Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson, and Woods back for the 2022 season Beckham unlocks different possibilities in head coach Sean McVay’s offense. Because defenses have been so focused on slowing down Kupp, Beckham has had his fair share of one-on-one situations and that is something that McVay has been exploiting in the playoffs.

If Beckham plays well in the Super Bowl and the Rams come away with the Lombardi Trophy, it would be a no-brainer to try and re-sign him. Beckham has been electric to watch and it would be exciting to see him stick around in Los Angeles past this year.
