The Los Angeles Rams have had a busy and expensive offseason as they locked down several core pieces for the future.
The Rams agreed to lucrative extensions with Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald, keeping them pillars of its Super Bowl roster together. They also managed to replace Robert Woods with Allen Robinson to keep the offense as explosive as ever while adding Bobby Wagner on defense.
One piece missing is Odell Beckham Jr., who remains unsigned. Beckham tore his ACL during Super Bowl LVI but has still garnered significant interest from contending teams. As of right now, it seems like Los Angeles remains in the driver’s seat to re-sign Beckham, who is expected to be full-go late during the 2022 season, via Timothy Rapp of Bleacher Report:
The Los Angeles Rams are “optimistic” they’ll be able to sign veteran wideout Odell Beckham Jr. in free agency, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Monday’s Get Up.
“But Beckham could take his time here because talking to teams, they don’t expect Beckham to be healthy until October or maybe even November, as far as ‘full-go’ back from that ACL,” Fowler added. “So Beckham can take his time, maybe even wait until the first couple of weeks of the season, see who’s hot, who needs a receiver. He will likely go to a contender.”
Beckham underwent successful ACL surgery earlier in the offseason that also managed to fix an issue with a previous procedure. For the Rams, they’re in no rush to add another receiver after bringing in Robinson, so they still seem like the best fit for him.
Even in his limited stint in L.A., Beckham was a driving force throughout their postseason run and bringing him back into the fold would only help their odds of repeating. It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming months, but hopefully Beckham re-ups with the Rams.
