Rams News: Ndamukong Suh Signs One-Year, $14 Million Deal

The Los Angeles Rams have not been shy about pursuing the biggest names on the market this offseason. They kicked it up a notch when rumors surfaced about the mutual interest between them and former Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Needless to say, the five-time Pro Bowler has garnered plenty of interest as the biggest name left on the market. However, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, he has agreed to a one-year, $14 million deal with the Rams:

Former Dolphins’ DT Ndamukong Suh reached agreement with Los Angeles Rams on a one-year, $14 million deal, per source. Suh took less to go to LA. Suh and Aaron Donald now manning LA’s front.

Los Angeles had appeared as frontrunners to land his services almost immediately after he was released by Miami. The rumor came as a bit of a surprise considering the Rams did not have a huge void to fill up front. They already have the reigning Defensive Player of the Year in Aaron Donald and stalwart Michael Brockers serving as the anchors of the defense. However, the addition of Suh now solidifies the most formidable defensive line in the league.

Although he is coming off a down season by his standards, the former All-Pro is still regarded as one of the best at his position. It was for that reason that teams like the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans were also in pursuit of him. Fortunately, it seems Suh finally realized just exactly what Los Angeles had to offer in terms of competing for a championship next season.

Whether or not they make another move the rest of the offseason, the Rams have undoubtedly made the biggest splash this offseason with their bevy of star acquisitions. That said, the expectations could not be any higher for the team moving forward.
