It has been nearly two weeks since the Los Angele Rams were able to land All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. This was one of several moves that the front office has made this offseason to beef up the defensive side of the ball.
During the free agency process, Suh had received plenty of attention from several teams that also included the Tennessee Titans, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Seattle Seahawks. According to Joe Curley of the Ventura County Star, the 31-year-old stated that he took the one-year, $14 million deal with the Rams in order to prove himself on the field:

The decision to join the Rams has put him in a unique position to be a huge factor defensively for a team on the rise that could potentially compete for a Super Bowl next season. He also has the chance to form a formidable trio with reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald and veteran defensive tackle Michael Brockers. This trio could help set the tone defensively upfront with a stout secondary behind them that features a couple of All-Pro cornerbacks in Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib.
Suh is still playing some of the best football of his career as one of the top defensive tackles in the league. He could have one of his most effective seasons with another elite talent in Donald next to him to draw even or greater attention on any given play. There plenty of opportunity for this to be his next home in the NFL long-term if things transpire well on the field.
It is also a chance to prove that he is worth a lucrative long-term contract next March by showing he can be a key piece on a defense for a potentially Super-Bowl caliber team. It is a risk to take a chance on himself, but this is a situation that could work out great in his favor.
