Coming into the 2016 season, the Los Angeles Rams were widely recognized as having the deepest, most talented defensive line in the NFL. While players like Aaron Donald and Robert Quinn have become well-known names throughout the league, the Rams were able to lock up another key piece of their gifted line.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Los Angeles was able to lock up an extension with defensive tackle Michael Brockers reportedly worth $33.125 million with $18.25 million guaranteed:

Head coach Jeff Fisher commented on retaining Brockers and his importance on the defensive line:
“Retaining Michael was a priority for our organization,” Fisher said. “Our defensive front has always been important to us, and Michael has been a significant part in what we do on that side of the football. We’re excited that he is going to continue his career with us here in Los Angeles.”
While he is not known for his pass-rushing ability, Brockers is rock solid against the run and is as durable as they come. Since being taken with the 14th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the former LSU product has proved capable of being a perennial interior mate to Donald.
Speaking of Donald, he will also be entering the final year of his rookie contract next season. As a result, the Rams are expected to shelve out significant money if they want to keep their current interior duo intact.
