The Los Angeles Rams profile as a playoff contender given their success from the 2023 season coupled with the upside of a roster stacked with young talent on both sides of the field.
Although Los Angeles is set up well for the future, the organization is still squarely in the mindset that they can compete for a Super Bowl so long as the core of their roster is intact. Head coach Sean McVay is one of the best in the league, and his offense will feature Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp during the 2024 season.
The three have become the foundation of what makes the Rams’ offense so potent, and the trio will be counted on to help lead Los Angeles this year. In Stafford’s case, he will be looking to continue to prove that he can play at an elite level.
Stafford recently was granted more guaranteed money on his current deal and he revealed that he’ll be looking to play at least a few more years in the league, via Pardon My Take:
“Every year that I play now, I just appreciate so much and I think back on – I mean, we were just talking about plays from my rookie year and it’s like, man, that was a long, long time ago. I walk into a locker room with guys who were 6, 7, 8, 9 years old when I first came into the league, which is kind of crazy to think about. But I definitely appreciate my opportunities and appreciate this game. I mean, it’s given me a ton. I hope I’ve got three or four more left in me. We’ll see. Every year is a new year, but I do feel good.”
Stafford’s got two more years left on his current contract, so if he does plan on playing that much longer he and the Rams would need to work out another agreement. However, McVay has already said he wants Stafford to be in a Rams jersey for as long as he wants to be so that’s a good sign that the two sides could work something out down the line.
Caleb Williams calls Rams’ Matthew Stafford a top-two quarterback in the NFL
Matthew Stafford is generally considered one of the best quarterbacks in the league because of his ability to throw just about every pass in the book. However, Chicago bears rookie Caleb Williams believes Stafford is a top-two quarterback in the league.
