When the Los Angeles Rams traded away Robert Woods, it left a hole in their offense as he was one of the engines that kept it humming.

However, the Rams had a contingency plan in place when they brought in Allen Robinson. Robinson had been toiling away with the Chicago Bears, but still was productive when given opportunities to go up for the football. Los Angeles handed Robinson a three-year deal, showing they believe he has plenty left in the tank.

Robinson made sure to get acclimated with his new team as quickly as possible as he participated in voluntary workouts. Grasping head coach Sean McVay’s offense is no easy task, but so far Matthew Stafford has been impressed with how much Robinson’s been able to grasp in such a short period of time via Stu Jackson of TheRams.com:

“I’ve been very, very impressed with his ability to grasp our offense, his role in our offense,” Stafford said after the team’s June 8 minicamp practice. “His understanding, even when he might miss something or mess something up, the reason is so sound on why he did something – he heard this and thought that, and I’m like, ‘That’s a great thought.’ It’s really productive growth for him in our offense. “

Stafford has not thrown so far as he recovers from a routine offseason injection, but he has been present to see Robinson in action. The two have also been spending time talking through concepts in order to build rapport.

As a veteran, Robinson shouldn’t have much trouble finding his footing within the Rams offense, especially with people like Stafford and Cooper Kupp around to help him out. It’s early, but it sounds like Robinson is going to fit in just fine and be a major help in ensuring Los Angeles defends its Super Bowl crown during the 2022 season.
