Despite being shorthanded and on the road, the Los Angeles Rams overcame all their obstacles to defeat the Arizona Cardinals in their biggest game of the year.

The Rams played great football on both sides of the field, with the offense able to move the chains consistently while the defense was able to force several turnovers. Matthew Stafford has rebounded from a rough November as he had another strong game, throwing for 287 yards and three passing touchdowns with no interceptions.

One of Stafford’s three touchdowns went to Odell Beckham Jr. who has looked far more comfortable in the offense. Stafford had high praise for the receiver, highlighting several of the plays he made throughout the night.

“Yeah, I mean I think about it, it’s because of more time,” Stafford said. “He’s got a great guy in Cooper to help him out week in and week out and on practice field.

“He and I are communicating nonstop trying to make this thing come to life, and he did a great job on the slant for a touchdown, great job on the shallow going for about 40 on a third down play for us. Another play action pass for 18 or 20 on the left side, so he did some great things today, and I’m just happy to have him on our team. He’s been great to be around, he’s working his tail off and helping us out.”

Beckham has steadily improved since his debut and his showing against the Cardinals was encouraging for the team’s outlook down the stretch. The star receiver recorded six receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown, and the plays Stafford pointed out all helped set up the Rams to score.

While Robert Woods’ is clearly missed in Los Angeles, Beckham has stepped in and filled in the void admirably. With Stafford’s connection and chemistry with Beckham improving, the Rams offense should continue to click through this final stretch of the 2021 season.
