The Los Angeles Rams are set to face their biggest challenge of the early 2018 NFL season when they take on their fellow tenants, the Los Angeles Chargers. That, of course, means a matchup with Philip Rivers, a familiar face to Marcus Peters.

Peters, of course, spent the first three seasons of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs where he would face off with Rivers twice a year. Over that time, he developed a major respect for the veteran quarterback.

Peters recently spoke about Rivers, saying that he loves him and what he brings to the game because he is such a competitor, according to Gary Klein of Los Angele Times:

If there is one thing that cannot be questioned about Rivers, it is his competitive nature. He comes out looking to win every single week and has no problem challenging the best that the opposing defense has to offer. That, in turn, brings out the best in competitive people like Peters.

Peters certainly had some success against Rivers in the past, notching four interceptions in six previous matchups with the Chargers. Rivers will definitely be challenging Peters and the rest of the Rams defense.

So far, Rivers is fourth in the league in passing yards with 680 and he has thrown six touchdowns to just one interception. Of course, facing off with the Rams defense is completely different than anyone else and Peters will be ready to pounce on any mistake Rivers makes.
