The Los Angeles Rams were looking to move to 4-0 on Sunday, but they put up a lackluster performance and lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 55-40, at home. Although the Rams continually appeared to be getting blown out in the high scoring affair, they did not give up until the final snap and made a bit of a comeback.

One of those comeback moments came on the Buccaneers’ lone turnover. Rams quarterback Marcus Peters intercepted a pass from Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston and returned it for a touchdown to bring the team back within one touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.

Although Peters’s 32-yard interception was a game-changing and impressive play, it was not all good. Peters took a huge hit from Buccaneers offensive tackle Donovan Smith and was pulled from the game and evaluated for a concussion.

It appears that Peters and the Rams got luck though as according to Gary Klein of the L.A. Times, Peters has already cleared the league’s concussion protocol just 24 hours later:

Rams CB Marcus Peters is not on (estimated) injury report. Peters was evaluated for a concussion Sunday. He has been cleared, per a Rams spokesman.

Lindsey Thiry of ESPN is reporting that Peters is dealing with a face laceration, although he is expected to be good to go for Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks:

Rams CB Marcus Peters has been added to the injury report bc he did not re-enter last night's game after he was evaluated for a concussion. Peters was cleared of a concussion, but will appear on report with a "face" injury, bc of a laceration. Projected as a full participant.

The Rams defense had been playing well up until their matchup with the Buccaneers. Through their first three games, the defense gave up only two touchdowns on average. Now that average is up to 26 points per game as opposed to only giving up 16 points per game through the first four games of 2018.

Peters is one of the players that struggled against Tampa Bay as he was beat by Mike Evans for a 69-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He did respond with the interception of the next drive, however.

It is encouraging to hear that Peters is not dealing with a concussion, especially with the short week and a tough test in Russell Wilson and the Seahawks ahead.
