Before the Los Angeles Rams can play in their future $2.6 billion stadium, they found a temporary and familiar home in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The Rams have seemed to have stuck with the same formula after agreeing to hold training camp at the University of California, Irvine in nearby Orange County. UCI made the announcement after reaching a three-year deal to host the Rams training camp in their return to the west:

“We’re committed to being a university for the people, which means offering stellar academics and inviting our community to join us for historic events,” said Chancellor Howard Gillman. “We’re proud to welcome the Rams back to Southern California, where they belong.”

After packing up for St. Louis in 1995, the Rams held their training camps at their facilities from 1990-1992 and again in 1994. Head coach Jeff Fisher talked about the Rams return to Orange County with training camp right around the corner:

“We look forward to training at UCI in preparation for the 2016 season,” said Fisher. “Their facilities are top-notch, and we’re excited to welcome fans to their campus as we gear up for the start of the season.”

Training camp starts July 30 and will be open to the public as fans will get the chance to meet players and get autographs.
