The Los Angeles Rams have acknowledged the fact that there are lingering concerns on the defensive side of the ball. Fortunately, they managed to make another offseason splash via trade.

The Kansas City Chiefs have not been shy about shopping their key players this offseason. The Rams took full advantage by trading for Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter:

Chiefs are expected to trade CB Marcus Peters to the Los Angeles Rams, sources tell ESPN. Teams are in final stages of talks and barring an unexpected snag, the trade is expected to be agreed to as early as today

Although the terms of the deal have yet to be clarified, the Rams have come up big thus far in the offseason. Meanwhile, Chiefs fans are left reeling with the departure of Peters.

It was well-established that Los Angeles was in desperate need of some depth in their secondary. Needless to say, Peters fills a huge void as a bonafide shutdown corner. The trade also likely means that cornerback Trumaine Johnson’s time with the Rams has come to an end.

Peters’ ability to create turnovers is second to none. Furthermore, he has already been named a two-time All-Pro in just his first three seasons in the league. It should be noted that the trade cannot be officially made until the deadline on March 14.
