Through the first several weeks of the offseason, the Los Angeles Rams have been one of the more busy teams in the league. Much of their effort has been on retooling the roster on the defensive side of the ball.
As a result, the front office has strengthened their secondary with proven commodities at the cornerback position. According to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network, the Rams have continued on that path after agreeing to a three-year, $15.75 million deal to bring back veteran cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman:

The 26-year-old has just wrapped up his first season with the Rams after spending his first four years in the league with the Buffalo Bills. Robey-Coleman quickly proved to be a valuable asset to the secondary by enjoying arguably his best season recording a career-high 49 tackles with a pair of interceptions along with a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery.
With Robey-Coleman back in the fold, it gives the Rams an even more formidable secondary that has plenty of talent at the cornerback position with offseason additions Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. The team has also already placed rising star safety Lamarcus Joyner under the franchise tag for next season and will pair him alongside second-year safety John Johnson at the other starting spot.
All of this could potentially give Los Angeles the most effective secondary in the league. They ranked 11th against the pass while allowing the fourth-lowest completion percentage 58.4. Los Angeles also tied for sixth with 18 interceptions, and fifth in opposing quarterback passer rating (78.4) last season.
This move comes just a few hours after wide receiver Sammy Watkins reportedly agreed to a three-year, $48 million deal to join the Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams still have just around $30 million in salary cap space to make additional moves in free agency this offseason that could see them look to address their lack of depth at linebacker or look for more help at the wide receiver position.
