With the first wave of cuts officially in the books, the Los Angeles Rams have now trimmed their roster from 90 to the required 75. Injuries have already begun to plague the team so far this preseason, which has resulted in head coach Jeff Fisher and company closely evaluating their decisions.
One of the more notable players cut was that of former 16th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft and defensive linemen Quinton Coples according to Rand Getlin of NFL Network:

After short stints with the New York Giants and Miami Dolphins, the Rams signed Coples in the offseason hoping to bolster their already dominant defensive line. He was originally brought in as an extra defensive end, but was moved to defensive tackle. It did not take long for head coach Jeff Fisher to realize he was just not the right fit according to Joe Curley of Ventura County Star:

Aside from the talented individuals like Aaron Donald and Robert Quinn, Los Angeles also possess tremendous depth behind those stars. The release of Coples only furthers the notion of how difficult it is to become a certified member of the ‘Mob Squad.’
Despite the slow start to the preseason, the Rams starting defense is hoping to fine-tune some things as they are expected to play only a limited amount of snaps against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday.
