The Los Angeles Rams were one of the most surprising teams in the 2017 NFL season. However, they are no longer sneaking up on any team thanks to the bevy of additions they made to their star-studded roster this offseason.

As a result, the hype train has picked up some serious steam. According to ESPN’s David Purdum, Westgate SuperBook’s head football oddsmaker Ed Salmons, the Rams are the betting favorites to win Super Bowl LIII.

In fact, more bets have been placed and more money has been wagered on the Rams to win the Super Bowl than any other team, Salmons said.

The news should hardly come as any surprise. On paper, Los Angeles has arguably the most talented team in the league.

Los Angeles already capped the 2017 campaign by watching running back Todd Gurley take home the NFL’s Offensive Player off the Year. The Rams managed to fortify the passing game once again with the addition of wide receiver Brandin Cooks as well.

Meanwhile, they also have the reigning Defensive Player of the year in defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Needless to say, Los Angeles has made some major upgrades on this side of the ball. It began with the acquisitions of All-Pro cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. However, general manager Les Snead put the icing on the cake when he signed defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.

Not to mention, all these star players are led by two of the NFL’s brightest minds in head coach Sean McVay and defensive coordinator Wade Phillips. That said, it is easy to see why the Rams have emerged as the betting favorites at the moment. However, Los Angeles will still need to figure out how to put it all together this offseason. Needless to say, there will be a magnifying glass on the Rams’ development as the 2018 NFL season unfolds.
