Coming off their most successful season in more than a decade, the Los Angeles Rams have displayed no hesitance this offseason to adding more pieces to the puzzle. Much of that has come in the way of revamping the roster on the defensive side of the ball.
Los Angeles has continued that process through the first few days of the free agency period by retaining a few their own players under new deals. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Rams have have agreed to a one-year deal with defensive tackle Dominique Easley:

Easley had missed the entire 2017 season after tearing his ACL in the first padded-practice last August. He was coming off a promising 2016 campaign that saw him put up career-best numbers with 35 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles while playing in all 16 regular-season games for the first time. He even first career multi-sack game during that season.
Prior to the injury, the 26-year-old has worked his way into being a key part of their defensive line rotation alongside defensive tackles Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. The fact that the team is progressing toward a new contract with Easley speaks to their confidence that he can be an effective player upon his return the field.
The Florida product has shown some steady recovery from the ACL injury with video posts on social media of himself working out at the team’s training facility, which includes running on an Anti-gravity treadmill last month for the first time since the ailment.
Easley has likely taken more encouraging steps forward in his rehab from the injury that has led the team to believe he will be back on the field in time for the 2018 season. Los Angeles has made some serious upgrades to their defensive personnel this offseason. Retaining a player like Easley is just icing on the cake for the Rams up front.
