The Los Angeles Rams have made a blockbuster trade ahead of the 2016 NFL Draft, acquiring the No. 1 overall pick from the Tennessee Titans:

It did not come at a cheap price though, as the Rams are giving up a lot to the Titans to acquire that top pick according to Michael Silver of NFL Network:

In addition to the top overall pick in 2016, the Rams also acquired the Titans’ fourth sixth-round picks in this year’s draft.

While the deal comes as a bit of a surprise, it is the splash that the Rams perhaps needed to make as they begin their new chapter in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles will likely target a quarterback with the first pick, as California’s Jared Goff and North Dakota State’s Carson Wentz are the top two on most draft boards.

Quarterback is a position that the Ram’s struggled at in 2015, as both guys that started, Nick Foles and Case Keenum, failed to have a Total QBR over 50. Foles started 11 games, passing for 2,052 yards and seven touchdowns while throwing 10 interceptions, amounting to a 30.01 QBR.

Keenum then took over for the final five games of the season, throwing for 828 yards and four touchdowns while throwing one interception, yielding a QBR of 47.68. The Rams did win three of their final four games with Keenum under center.
