The Los Angeles Rams have perhaps their biggest game of the year coming up against the formidable Philadelphia Eagles. Needless to say, the Rams were hoping to use every bit of the home-field advantage they were supposed to have. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans with the devastating wildfires currently raging in the Greater Los Angeles area.
As a result, the Rams have had to make a few adjustments to their practice schedule. Fortunately, head coach Sean McVay feels it has actually worked out in their favor, according to ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez
“This time of year, it actually served us well,” McVay said. “We got a lot of good work in, got more reps than we would’ve otherwise than when you just do your walk-through and your normal practice. Where we’re at, it actually worked out as a benefit to us.”
It is encouraging to see that McVay is seemingly unbothered by their most recent hindrance, especially with the fires expected to make their way inland. That said, Los Angeles will have to make the most out of its newly-altered practice regimen.
Meanwhile, the Eagles may be the ones that reap the benefits of being the away team. Philadelphia landed in Los Angeles earlier this week and have since held their practices in Orange County at Angels Stadium.
