The Los Angeles Rams offense was nothing less than abysmal throughout the 2016-17 NFL season. Luckily, the team can begin to work on filling their holes on offense with free agency right around the corner.
Apart from their obvious needs on the offensive line, the Rams are also in the market for another wide receiver with the uncertain future of Kenny Britt. General manager Les Snead recently discussed the possibility of pursuing some of the bigger names in free agency with Gary Klein of Los Angeles Times:
This is the year because we do think, ‘Hey, our young team’s at the point where we’re re-signing people and they’re into their veteran phase of life.’ Now you sprinkle in veterans, and it doesn’t have to be a huge splash, but it might be two players for one that help. If you’re talking about receivers in the passing game, one’s great but maybe two actually help it better.
Snead found himself on the hot seat this season along with Jeff fisher, whom he signed with back in 2012. However, Snead was given an extension and another chance to build this team with new head coach Sean McVay.
A good start would be to bring in a legitimate wide receiver to replace Britt as this team’s top option. Despite the team’s weak passing attack, Britt managed to become the Rams first 1,000-yard receiver in nearly a decade. Signing a veteran wideout like Jeffrey or Jackson, for the right price, would pay huge dividends for quarterback Jared Goff.
