Rams News: Les Snead Not Overlooking Seattle Seahawks

The Los Angeles Rams are coming off one of their most impressive seasons in franchise history given they shocked most of the NFL by winning the NFC West during the 2017 NFL season. Despite losing to the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card round of the 2017 NFL Playoffs, there is plenty of optimism surrounding the team going forward.

The Rams decided to use the offseason to acquire premier talent on both sides of the field after landing Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks through trades and free agency. With a revamped roster, Los Angeles should be considered a legitimate threat to once again win their division and make a postseason run.

However, in an appearance on the Talk of Fame podcast, Les Snead cautioned the team still needs to worry about the Seattle Seahawks, as transcribed by Clark Judge of Talk of Fame Sports Network:

I do want to say that the team that’s the most the north of us, Seattle, they still have that home-field (advantage), and they still have Russell Wilson,” Snead said on the Talk of Fame podcast. “So, guess what? For us to truly become, if you want to call it, the ‘kings of the West,’ we want to do that. And we want to repeat, and we want to do it consistently. You still gotta go up there and take care of those guys. They’re still gonna be a good team.”

The Seahawks are vulnerable for the first time after the loss of several key defensive pieces, namely Richard Sherman. Despite their sudden loss of talent on the defensive end, however, Seattle still has one of the best home-field advantages in the league, making it difficult for visiting teams to secure a victory.

However, it is hard to overlook the Rams given their recent acquisitions and young core of players headlined by Jared Goff, Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald. It will be interesting to see how things in the NFC West shakeout once the 2018 NFL season begins.
