The Los Angeles Rams have already experienced their fair share of injuries before the 2022 season has kicked off.

The Rams are without Van Jefferson and Jacob Harris for at least a couple of weeks as they tend to knee and groin injuries, respectively, while all eyes have been on Matthew Stafford, who is managing pain in his throwing elbow. While all of them are expected to be available for Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills, there has to be some level of concern for the players’ health.

However, the team finally got good news as rookie running back Kyren Williams and wide receiver Warren Jackson were activated off the physically unable to perform list ahead of Monday’s practice:

Williams suffered a broken foot during the Rams’ offseason program and immediately had surgery. The running back was expected to come back sometime during training camp, meaning he was right on schedule in terms of his rehab.

A fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Williams profiles as a strong pass catcher out of the backfield as well as a great blocker in pass protection. Those are two areas the Rams have prioritized in their running backs, meaning Williams can carve out a role early on in head coach Sean McVay’s offense.

However, Williams may find it hard-pressed to see much time off the bat as Cam Akers and Darrell Henderson are both healthy and expected to take the lion’s share of snaps. Despite that, McVay finally has options in his running back room and it’ll be exciting to see how much Williams takes the field in his rookie season.

The Rams did not reveal what injury Jackson was dealing with but considering he is competing for a roster spot, it’s good to get him back on the practice field this early in camp.
