Although the Los Angeles Rams have been away from football-related activities the past month, things will quickly ramp up soon as training camp is right around the corner. In less than two weeks, the Rams will report to Loyola Marymount University for training camp and from there the calendar will get busy.
Below is a list of key dates and events for the upcoming 2024 season as well as the offseason in 2025.
July
July 23: Rookies and veterans report to training camp held at Loyola Marymount University
August
August 3: Training camp at LMU concludes.
August 4: Rams travel to L.A. Chargers training camp for joint practice. A second joint practice will take place, but the date and location has yet to be determined.
August 8-11: First NFL preseason weekend. Rams will also host joint practice with Cowboys in Oxnard on August 8.
August 11: Cowboys vs. Rams at SoFi Stadium. Kickoff at 1:30 p.m. PT.
August 15-18: Second NFL preseason weekend.
August 17: Rams vs. Chargers at SoFi Stadium at 4:05 p.m. PT.
August 22-25: Third NFL preseason weekend.
August 24: Rams vs. Texans at NRG Stadium at 10 a.m. PT.
August 27: Deadline for teams to reduce rosters to 53 players by 1 p.m. PT. Also, players placed in various injury categories must be placed on specific injury lists.
August 28: Claiming period for players placed on waivers ends.
September
September 5, 6, 8-9: First week of 2024 regular season games.
September 8: Rams vs. Lions at Ford Field on Sunday Night Football at 5:20 p.m. PT.
October
October 15-16: Annual Fall NFL meeting.
November
November 5: NFL trade deadline, ends at 1 p.m. PT.
November 6: Players with at least four pension-credited seasons subject to waiver system for the remainder of the regular season and postseason.
December
December 10-11: Special league meeting/front office accelerator in Irving, Texas.
January
January 8: Rosters for playoff teams are frozen with limited exceptions at 1 p.m. PT.
January 11-13: Super Wild Card Weekend.
Mid-January (tentative): Deadline for underclassmen in college to apply for Special Eligibility.
January 18-19: Divisional Round playoff games.
January 20: NCAA National Championship Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia
January 26: AFC & NFC Championship Games.
January 30: East-West Shrine Bowl.
February
February 1: Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alambama.
February 2: Pro Bowl Games.
February 9: Super Bowl LIX at Ceasars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana
February 24 – March 3: NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

March 10-12: Legal negotiating period. Starting on March 10 at 9a.m. PT and ending March 12 at 11:59 p.m. PT teams are allowed to contact and enter contract negotiations with free agents.
March 12: New league year and free agency begin at 1 p.m. PT.
