The Los Angeles Rams have built not only a winning culture but a team culture. After reaching the Super Bowl for the first time since 2001, it is clear that what they’re doing is working.

That culture was largely established by head coach Sean McVay and general manager Les Snead. Although McVay is only entering his third season as the Rams head coach, talks of a contract extension have already started to come up.

According to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times, a contract extension for McVay is something that Rams COO Kevin Demoff is hopeful can get done after they finish extending some key players:

Asked whether the Rams were pursuing an extension with McVay, Demoff said the focus was on “making sure the players we need to extend are done.” He said McVay had done “an amazing job” in his first two years, on and off the field.

“Becoming a face of the team in Los Angeles and, really, becoming one of the faces of the NFL, is everything you hope when you go into the head coaching process,” Demoff said. “Not just to find a great coach but to find an amazing leader and steward for our franchise.

“As you go to make sure that your [core] players are here for a long time, obviously the goal is to make sure your coaching staff is here a long time. … Our goal is always to make sure this group can stay together for as long as possible.”

Although McVay may not be a priority right now with players like Jared Goff approaching the end of a rookie contract, he certainly will become a priority soon.

Details have been hard to come by, but it is believed that McVay’s original contract with the Rams was for five years. With that in mind, a contract extension is likely to come sooner rather than later.

The duo of Snead and McVay have made a number of moves to elevate the teams to new heights. Just like McVay, Snead could be up for a contract extension soon. However, Snead is focused on the team and not on securing a new contract.

If the Rams can secure another Super Bowl run, and hopefully a win, then surely extensions for all parties involved will follow. Until then, Snead and McVay will worry about the product on the field.
