Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker Jared Verse was among the players selected to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, which will be held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., from Jan. 30 through Feb. 2.
Verse wasn’t in the top 10 among outside linebackers at any point during fan voting this year, but he received enough support from players and coaches to earn a selection.
Verse has exceeded expectations this season after being selected by the Rams with the 19th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
He currently leads all rookies in pressures (74), hurries (53) and quarterback hits (18). The 24-year-old is also tied for second in tackles for loss (11) and fifth in sacks (4.5).
League-wide, Verse is tied for second in hurries (53), fourth in pressures (74), tied for sixth in fumble recoveries (two) and tied for 26th in tackles for loss (11).
Verse has recorded 4.5 sacks and 65 total tackles, both of which are fourth-most on the Rams. His 11 tackles for loss are second-most, and he also has two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 18 QB hits while starting in every regular season game so far.
In Week 16, Verse joined teammate Braden Fiske as the only rookies in Rams franchise history to record at least 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Verse was the only Rams player picked for the 2025 Pro Bowl. The team had several snubs, including running back Kyren Williams, who has rushed for 1,299 yards and 14 touchdown this season.
NFL general managers vote Rams’ Jared Verse as Defensive Rookie of the Year
In a recent survey completed by NFL executives and general managers, Verse received the most votes for Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Verse received 15 votes, while Fiske finished third with three votes. That trailed only his Rams teammate and Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell (six).
Verse and Fiske have been instrumental to the Rams’ success this season and will look to keep it going as the team prepares for what they hope is a deep playoff run.
Rams general manager Les Snead has praised Verse and Fiske on several occasions and gave some insight on why the team drafted them. “We drafted them to bring an element of disruption from the front four or front five, depending on whether you’re in base, nickel, all those things,” Snead said earlier this month.
“To keep it simple, we drafted them to help us disrupt and I think they’re doing their part in helping us disrupt opposing offenses.”
